About the song

In the song, Shakira tells that she is waiting for someone who loves her. The song was not as successful as her previous singles, but was included in her two recompilation albums Grandes Éxitos and Colección de Oro.

Un Poco de Amor was the first Shakira song to include some phrases in English, performed by reggae artist Howard Glasford. Additionally, there is a Portuguese version entitled Um Pouco de Amor, included in her remix album The Remixes.

Music video

The video for this song was colourful and ethnic and was directed by Argentine director Gustavo Garzón, who had previously directed other music videos of Shakira. It shows the artist singing and dancing along with many people from other races or ethnic groups in addition to Shakira and Glasford singing together.
